STUDENT VISA IN SPAIN : EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Spain is one of the most popular destinations for international students.  If you're planning to study and work in Spain, obtaining a student visa is an essential step.


Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you understand the process, requirements, and benefits of a student visa in Spain.

 

Elegibility:

 

to apply for a student visa, you must:


- Be accepted into a recognized educational institution in Spain: The institution should be registred in the Registro de Centros Docentes Universitarios o no Universitarios.

- The studies should be: 21h per week and presential classroom, is not possible online.

- If you want to study Spanish or an other language, the institution needs to show that is a official institution recognized by instituto Cervantes.

- Have proof of sufficient financial means to support yourself during your stay (7.200 EURO IN 2024)

- Obtain health insurance coverage valid in Spain.

- Medical certificat to sow you don’t have any contagious disease  provided for in international health regulations 2005.

- Have no criminal record.

 

Application Process


You can start process into your country and get a cita from the “consulado de españa” in your country” or if you prefear, you can star process directly in spain (but be carefull, you can only do this from spain if you are in the first 60 days since you come to spain).

 

When you obtain the visa, if the studies are “high studies”, like university master or degree, you will work in spain during your visa studies.

 

 

 When you finish studies:

 

You can do a renewal to continue study, or if you want, you can change this student permit to work permit if you have a job offer.
